Abstract: This study presents voltammetric sensing of minoxidil using a molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP). For fabrication of the electrochemical sensor, the synthesized MIP was incorporated into the carbon paste electrode (CPE). MIP-CPE and non-imprinted polymer carbon paste electrode were compared for the recognition ability toward minoxidil. The most important parameters affecting sensor performance were optimized and a calibration curve was then plotted using differential pulse voltammetric technique. Under optimum conditions, the sensor has a linear response in the 1–400 nM minoxidil concentration range and a 0.3 nM limit of detection (at an S/N ratio of 3). Also, the selectivity of the sensor was investigated. Finally, this sensor was applied successfully for minoxidil determination in real samples with different matrices.
