Abstract:

Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is a byproduct in many industrial process; leaking and poisoning accident caused by H2S are occurred in industrialized countries every year. Interception and handle of leakage H2S is very difficult for its low concentration but high toxicity, improper handle would lead to additional accident and casualty. Here a comprehensive assessment is conducted for sealing wall and medicament atomization wall. Experiment shows that sealing wall can block leakage H2S for 24.0 s, atomizing Na2CO3 solution can remove 70% H2S, removal rate increases to 95–98% and removal efficiency is 6.84 × 105 to 1.02 × 106 ppm after H2O2 is added to atomization. Atomization wall, composing of atomizing liquid spraying from nozzle, is an effective way to removal of H2S; the removal efficiency is 8.08 × 105 to 2.73 × 106 ppm for each meter wide atomization wall. The removal efficiency is greatly affected by leakage flow, the higher the leakage flow, the lower the H2S removal efficiency. These studies indicate that the characteristic of atomization wall and sealing wall needs to be determined based on estimated leakage flow, medicament atomization wall is highly efficient and well form of H2S removal.
