Abstract: General laws describing the course of liquidus curves in the binary systems having no solid solns. are derived. They are called the criteria of thermodn. consistency. The relations are generally valid without respect to functional relation between the activity and the concn. of the component in liq. phase. The criteria can be used successfully for the verification of the essential accuracy of the course of a liquidus curve.
