Determination of small amounts of methyl alcohol in ethyl alcohol by gas chromatography

Abstract: A good sepn. of MeOH from EtOH can be achieved in a 2-m. column of 4 mm. inner diam., filled with granular Teflon impregnated with 13% sebacate polymer, at 18° and with N flow 30 mL./min. MeOH in concns. of 1-10% can be detd. with an error of ±5% and in concns. <0.1 % with an error of ±7%.
