A simple method for testing the thermal stability of stationary phases in gas-liquid chromatography

Abstract: A method for evaluating the thermal stability of stationary phases is described. Fourteen phases were tested and compared with the practical results obtained with chromatographic columns. Based on these results, ≤150° di-n-dodecyl terephthalate, ≤150-200° Leybold's vacuum fat, sebacate polymer and solid Carbowax, and ≤200-50° siloxane rubbers and polyethylene are satisfactory.
