New diagram for the evaluation of extraction reactions

Abstract: The construction and application of a new diagram for the evaluation of extn. reactions, in which undesirable components are removed from raw solid material with chemicals, along with a detd. amt. of components which had to be isolated in the solid state, is described. This diagram is simple in construction and should be esp. suitable for delignification and other extn. reactions in the cellulose industry. The diagram is a 4-sided figure standing on one corner. The concn. from 0 to 30% is one side of the upright figure, while the other side, at right angles, is 70-40%. A base line connecting two opposite corners of the square has concns. from 40 to 100%.
