The effect of trace elements on Saccharomyces cerevisiae

Abstract: cf. C.A. 46, 4066i, 4067a. An addn. of a mixt. of Nemec's trace elements MEB-49 in production of Saccharomyces cerevisiae (I) on Nielsen's synthetic and com. molasses (sugar beet) and superphosphate substrate has a favorable effect on multiplication and yield of yeast. Mn is the most effective, Cu is the next, and Zn the least in fermentation of I.
