Atomic absorption spectroscopic determination of primary and secondary elements of copper slags

Abstract:  The possibility to determine AI, Cr, Fe, and Si0₂ in brassy slags is discussed. At elaboration of the method attention was paid mainly to chemical effect of matrix and side elements on the amounts of absorbed analytical elements. The obtained results were statistically treated on the basis of calibration curves. In conclusion the analytical results obtained by atomic absorption spectrometry and classical chemical analysis were compared. It was found that the results of atomic absorption spectrometry were without systematic errors and the relative accuracy of determination was in the interval of ±1 to ±4%.
