Isothiocyanates. XIII. The preparation and infrared absorption spectra of m- and p-alkoxycarbonylphenyl isothiocyanates

Abstract: cf. CA 60, 9176a. The action of thiophosgene on the appropriate alkyl aminobenzoates gave the following new RO₂CC₆H₄NCS (R, b.p., and n20D given): m-Am, b0.8 151°, 1.5774; m-C₆H₁₃, b0.85 154°, 1.5461; p-C₆H₁₃ b3.5, 195°, 1.5800; m-C₈H₁₇, b0.7 156°, 1.5552; p-C₈H₁₇, b0.5 155°, 1.5662. Infrared absorption spectra of the isothiocyanates were shown and discussed.
