Abstract: A spectral-soln. method for detn. of Al2O3, Fe2O3, SiO2, and TiO2 in bauxite, by applying a rotation disk as an electrode carrier, is described. Bauxite is fused with a 1:1.85 mixt. of Na2CO3 and Na2B4O7.10H2O in the ratio 1:10. The fusion is dissolved in a soln. of citric acid, and buffered with Na citrate to prevent SiO2 pptn. The inner standard is Ni, and for excitation a condensed spark is applied. Exptl. errors in 26 detns. are ±1.34% for Al2O3, ±2.3% for Fe2O3, ±3.1% for SiO2, and ±4.7 for TiO2.
