Preparation of γ-diamminecopper(II) and the study of its structure

Abstract:  The formation of   γ-Cu(C₂0₄)(NH₃)₂ from the complex [Cu(NH₃)₅](C₂0₄) was followed by the method of non-isothermal kinetic analysis. The destruction takes place in two steps: At first 2 moles of NH₃ release (E_A =  20±1 kcal mol^-1) and in the second reaction step у-Сu(С₂0₄)(NН₃)₂ is formed (E_A = 24 ± 1 kcal mol^-1). The structure of [Cu(NH₃)₅](C₂0₄) and of γ -Cu(C₂0₄)(NH₃)₂ is discussed on the basis of their infrared and EPR spectra.
