Synthesis of 3-acetamino-3-deoxy-D-glucose

Abstract:  The synthesis of 3-acetamino-3-deoxy-D-glucose (N-acetylkanozamine) from 1,2:5,6-di-O-isopropylidene-a-D-glucofuranose through the corresponding 3-oxo- and 3-oximino derivatives is described.
