The determination of 2,3,5,6-tetrachloronitrobenzene in technical pure product by polarographic analysis

Abstract: Half-wave potentials of 2,3,5,6-tetrachloronitrobenzene (I), 2,3,4,5-tetrachloronitrobenzene, 2,3,4,5,6-pentachloronitrobenzene, and 2,4,5-trichloronitrobenzene and their effect on a polarographic detn. of I in a tech. pure product are detd. 2,3,4,6-Tetrachloronitrobenzene and 2,3,4,5,6-pentachloronitrobenzene disturb the detn. The disturbance by 2,3,5,6-tetrachloro-1,4-dinitrobenzene occurs only if 2,4,5-trichloronitrobenzene and 2,3,4,5-tetrachloronitrobenzene are present.
