Determination of molybdenum in copper slags, copper mattes, and copper by atomic absorption spectrometry

Abstract:  Complete optimalization procedure was carried out for determination of molybdenum by atomic absorption spectrometry. The AAS determination of Mo in copper slags, copper mattes, and metallic copper is complicated by matrixeffect. In the actual case mentioned the matrixeffects were eliminated by an addition of ammonium and aluminium chlorides. It was proved that the detection limit of the method thus developed is not significantly influenced by the spectrochemical nature of the additives used for matrixeffect elimination.
