Synthesis and biological activity of 2-(alkylthio)-6-(bicyclo[2.2.1]hept-5-ene-2,3-dicarboximido)benzothiazoles

Abstract:  6-(Bicyclo[2.2.1]hept-5-en-2,3-dicarboximido)-2-benzothiazolinethione and its S-alkyl (C_1-16) derivatives were synthesized and tested for insecticidal, fungicidal, herbicidal, and antimycobacterial activities. High fungicidal activity was found against Phytophthora infestans on tomatoes. The antimycobacterial activity against Mycobacterium avium was found to be most significant.
