Determination of the metastable region during crystallization of pentaerythritol from water

Abstract: Qualitative determination of the metastable area on the crystallization of pure pentaerythrite and determination of the influence of polyhydroxy compounds on the extent of the metastable area were performed. From the measured values the supersaturation curve and the supercooling of the pure pentaerythrite may be calculated.
