Preparation of α,β-unsaturated ketones derived from acetylpyridines. II. Synthesis

Abstract: In continuation to the previous work (l) 59 more chalcone analogs were prepared by the Claisen—Schmidt condensation of acetylpyridines with different aromatic and heterocyclic aldehydes, using the same method of preparation. The general validity of the method used was tested and the compounds thus synthetised are beeing investigated for their physico-chemical properties and biological activity.
