Determination of the calorific value of gaseous fuels by heating a metal block

Abstract: An app. contg. a metal block, which can be used in place of Junkers' calorimeter for gaseous fuels, is described. From the calibrated diagram, plotted from data on known fuels, it was possible to det. directly the calorific value of gaseous fuels from the temps. of the block taken at definite time intervals.
