Iron sulfides and their oxidation products

Abstract: The compn. of Fe sulfides formed by the action of H₂S on Fe(OH)₃ was studied. Under given conditions FeS with an admixt. of FeS₂ is formed. The oxidn. of Fe sulfides, with inoculating crystals, at various pH values, results in a definitive modification of Fe(OH)₃ in α-FeOOH, γ-FeOOH, or α-Fe₂O₃.
