An osmometric study of alloxan and dimethylalloxan

Abstract: By using a rush membrane the mesohydric tautomerism of alloxan has been proven. One mol. of H₂O in alloxan and dimethylalloxan is not water of crystn. but chemically bound. Two mols. dimethylalloxan in BuOH form with 2 mols. HCl an anomalous salt which is decompd. by the excess of BuOH.
