Physical properties of ethylene glycol and its derivatives. II. The vapor pressure of alkoxyethanols and other derivatives of ethylene glycol

Abstract: cf. C.A. 50, 12581d. The vapor pressure was measured of monopropyl ether, monobutyl ether, monoisopropyl ether, and monoisobutyl ether of monoethylene glycol, monomethyl ether of diethylene glycol and of the acetate of monoethyleneglycol monomethyl ether in the range of 40 to 740 mm. Hg. Exptl. results agreed with the Calingaert-David equation (C.A. 20, 686): log P = A - [B/(t + 230)], where P is pressure, t temp., and A and B are consts.
